The year was 2026
In 2026, FMO Team #202 once again powered through the iconic +500‑kilometer Roparun from Paris* to Rotterdam, bringing their trademark energy, teamwork and determination to the Pentecost weekend adventure.
A hot but memorable edition
It was a very warm, but very memorable edition of the Roparun. Team 202 started in sunny France on Saturday May 22nd in temperatures of 35 degrees and crossed the finish line in Rotterdam on Monday the 24th as a complete team, with the temperature still around 28 degrees. Despite the heat, it was yet again an unforgettable experience. Along the route, the organisation and many supporters did everything they could to help us keep going, from handing out water to setting up improvised showers with water hoses to cool us down. The stickers on the vans sponserod by our colleagues and business sponsors combined with the atmosphere at the “doorkomsten” also gave us a real boost, especially during the long and challenging hours through the night. If you would like to get a sense of the Roparun including the atmosphere along the route, feel free to take a look at our Instagram profile or the picture below.
Running for a meaningful cause
What makes the Roparun so meaningful is that it is about much more than the sporting challenge. Through the event, funds are raised for projects that support people with cancer and for palliative care initiatives that help make the final phase of life more bearable and dignified for patients and their families. Examples include wish fulfilment initiatives such as Make-A-Wish experiences, specialised transport or ambulances that help patients travel in comfort and dignity, and projects such as hospice rooms, a peaceful garden for final moments outdoors, or support for a last holiday with family. Roparun also highlights concrete initiatives for children, such as helping make their treatment journey more visible and tangible, showing how support can make a difficult period a little more manageable. That shared purpose keeps us going, kilometre after kilometre. We are very grateful for all the encouragement and financial support we received.
Thanks to your generosity, we have raised approximately EUR 26,000 so far.
Fueled by a strong lineup of sponsors supporting this year’s effort, Team #202 proudly ran for the Roparun mission: “Adding life to days, when days can’t be added to life.” Their dedication, grit and collective spirit once again made the journey not just a physical challenge, but a powerful contribution to improving care for people with cancer.
The French route of the Roparun 2025 begins in the quiet landscapes of Northern France, where teams gather at the starting line with fresh legs and buzzing anticipation. From there, the journey unfolds across long, open stretches of French countryside, the relay teams settling into rhythm as they make their way north.
As the kilometers tick by, the route leads runners across the border into Belgium, where small towns, cheering locals, and rolling roads offer both challenge and encouragement. The team moves as one—runners, cyclists, support crews—carrying the momentum forward into the Netherlands.
Once on Dutch soil, the route winds through familiar teritiroy on its way toward the final destination. With every checkpoint, fatigue mixes with determination as teams push through the final nighttime hours. Eventually, all French‑route runners converge with the Dutch‑route teams for the emotional last stretch, flowing together into the heart of Rotterdam. There, the journey ends in a wave of noise, relief, pride, and celebration.
*Since a few years, Roparun does not start in Paris anymore, but in Circuit Clastres. The Paris location became unavaible since covid and the olympics. On the plus side, this location is better equiped to host the larger number of Roparun teams and makes logistics for all participating teams substantially far more afordable leaving more to be donated.
